I am a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminology at University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. I am broadly interested in urban and community sociology, social movements, and housing sociology. My research examines how community members, such as housing insecure individuals, unhoused individuals, service providers, and activists mobilize for housing rights. My work also explores housing rights and policy more broadly, looking at topics like the evolution of eviction policy during the COVID-19 pandemic and housing policy changes related to the Violence Against Women Act. My teaching interests bring my passion for urban and community sociology and equity in the college classroom to the forefront, emphasizing community-based teaching, alternative assessment mechanisms, and student-centered pedagogy.
